Stella Attar is a published Top 10 topline writer and vocalist with a strong catalogue of songs and an ear for a hit, she works with talented producers and artists on cowrites and featured projects.
Stella fronted the highly acclaimed live dance act Freaks (Luke Solomon and Justin Harris) and co-wrote their massive hit ‘Creeps Get on the Dancefloor’. Released on Ministry of Sound’s Data Records in 2007, it reached no.9 in the UK charts, no.1 in the iTunes dance chart, notched up over 3 million hits on You Tube, was A playlisted on BBC Radio 1 and was Jo Wiley’s Record of the Week. In 2014 Freaks released Psych on Rebirth which featured two cowrites with Stella ‘We Move‘ previously out on Rebirth and ‘Black Shoes White Socks‘ also released on Hot Creations. Psych also received an amazing 9/10 album of the month review in DJ Magazine. There has also been a remix package of their classic ‘Where Were You When the Lights Went Out‘ on N.E.W.S. Records with a full on remix by Hirshee. But the original still rocks.

Her latest release is for the new Steps album ‘What the Future Holds’. Stella co-wrote the banger ‘Heartbreak In This City’ with pop producer Karl Twigg (Steps/Westlife). The album was released on 27th Nov 2020 going straight in at no.1 on the iTunes album chart and no.2 in the official UK album chart. Heartbreak In This City was released as the 4th single with a glittering remix collaboration with Drag Race star Michelle Visage, hitting the iTunes chart at no.1 on its day of release.
Stella wrote and features on drum and bass producer Logistics album ‘Electric Sun’ on Hospital Records. The uplifting, feel good Take Me To Another World was the first single off the album. It had an exclusive drop from Annie Mac. Aswell as being immediately picked up for the BBC1Xtra play list with props from Trevor Nelson.
Stella wrote and featured on Rockerfella with Rob Roar. The instrumental went to no.1 in the US dance charts followed by the vocal mix package, out on Beatport, also hitting the no.1 spot in the New York DJ Music Pool. Writing the topline for Ray Foxx ft Lovelle ‘La Musica’ (The Trumpeter) released on Defected, in early 2012. It was a hit across all territories and clocked up almost 2 million hits on You Tube. La Musica was the sound of the summer and was nominated for the ‘Best House/Garage/Deep House Track’ for the 27th Annual International Dance Music Awards at the Winter Music Conference in Miami.
A cowrite with Will Simms for BoA (a hit artist signed to SM entertainment within Japan and the US) for her new track Lookin‘ ft The Quiett. The song was released in support of Hyundai’s ad campaign for their ‘Premium Younique Lifesyle’ line of cars as well as being released for download on iTunes.
Stella wrote and featured on the Dabruck & Klein single ‘Heartbeat’ released on Armada which has racked up almost 2 million hits on You Tube with follow-up ‘Light Comin Out Of Your Eyes’ being the only original song on their D&K remix project ‘Hands on Armada’.
Stella is currently writing a body of work with producer Jason Boshoff (Basement Jaxx) and further songs with Karl Twigg. She has also collaborated with dance producer and DJ Michael Gray (The Weekend) and cowrote Chasing Shadows’ ft Danielle Senior and also his Opus Black project ‘Feels Like Home’. Deeper in the record box Stella wrote and featured on the Freaks album The Man Who Lived Underground and also wrote Rob Mello’s ‘Critical‘, released on Luke Solomon and Derrick Carter’s label Classic, followed up with a killer remix from Fabrice.
Stella has also collaborated with Dimitri Tikovoi, Dan Havers, Mark Yardley, Paul Statham, Magnus Fiennes (writing songs for BBC’s animation Freefonix) and many more talented producers and writers.
